A father and son who were convicted of possessing €500,000 worth of herbal cannabis for sale or supply in Co Donegal have been sentenced to a total of 16 years in prison.
At Letterkenny Circuit Court, Judge John O'Hagan sentenced Kieran Smyth, aged 48, of Old Grange, Armagh, to six years and his 25-year-old son, also named, Kieran, of the same address, to ten years.
Gardai seized the drugs in Falcarragh, north Donegal, on the 20 August last year.
