Maura Harrington, a member of the Shell to Sea campaign group, called off her action this afternoon.
She had been demanding that a pipe-laying ship, which arrived off the Mayo coast last week, leave Irish territorial waters and that the operation be permanently halted.
It has since gone for repairs at a UK port - believed to be Glasgow.
In a statement this afternoon, Ms Harrington says Corrib gas still remains a national issue because the Government continues to put the profits of Shell before the needs of the Irish people.
The Shell to Sea group again called for the gas to be processed at sea and repeated that it would continue to oppose the plans to bring it ashore at Glengad.
