Two people have been killed in separate road crashes in counties Cavan and Kilkenny.
A 40-year-old woman was killed when the car she was driving hit a bridge at Ricehill, Crossdoney in Co Cavan, at around 7am this morning.
The road was closed this morning and diversions were in place through Ballinagh.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Cavan Garda Station on 049-4368800.
Separately, a 69-year-old man was killed when the car he was driving left the road and hit a ditch in Co Kilkenny last night.
It happened at Tullaroan just after 11pm. Gardaí were examining the scene.
