Two men are still being questioned by gardaí in connection with the murder of a man in Dublin.

25-year-old Christopher Barry died after he was shot a number of times in the head by a man in a bookmakers on Killester Avenue in Donnycarney yesterday afternoon.

The assailant escaped on a motorbike which was later found burned out.

Mr Barry, a father-of-one from Killester, was known to gardaí.

Two men in their mid twenties were arrested yesterday evening and are being held in Raheny and Clontarf garda stations.

Fine Gael's Justice spokesman has called on the Minister for Justice Dermot Ahern to convene a security summit immediately with garda chiefs to discuss the upsurge in fatal gun attacks.
