Vincent Browne - Advertising fall blamed for closure

The current affairs magazine, Village, has ceased publication.

Its editor Vincent Browne has blamed a significant downturn in advertising and the cancellation of some separate publishing contracts for a shortfall in funding.

The magazine began as a weekly publication in 2004, before becoming a monthly one in January last year.

The closure will result in the loss of three jobs.
