Two people have been in killed in separate road crashes in Co Mayo and Co Wexford.
In Co Mayo, a woman was killed when the car she was travelling in collided with another vehicle .
The crash happened on the N59 at Kilmeena on the main Westport to Newport Road at 8.45pm
The drivers of both vehicles are being treated for their injuries at Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar.
The road remains closed pending a garda investigation and diversions are in place.
Any person who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact gardaí at Westport 098-50230.
And earlier today, a 37-year-old man died after being hit by a car in Co Wexford.
The incident happened at Ballypreacus near Bunclody at 1.45pm this afternoon.
The man's body was removed to Wexford General Hospital. Gardaí at Gorey are investigating the incident.
