The surcharge will increase by €10 each flight leg.

The fuel surcharge on flights to Chicago will increase from €75 to €85, flights to Orlando from €85 to €95 and flights to San Francisco and Los Angeles from €100 to €110.

Surcharges on New York, Boston and Washington Dulles flights - the shorter sector services to the US - remain unchanged.

Aer Lingus says the price increase is a result of the 50% increase in jet fuel spot prices since the beginning of the year.

The new pricing comes into effect on 30 July.
