A juvenile arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault at the Oxegen music festival has been released from custody.

A file is being prepared for the DPP.

According to a report in the Irish Independent yesterday, Kildare County Council imposed strict new safety guidelines on Oxegen's promoter MCD this year.

Among the 156 guidelines in the licence, the promoter is required to employ a minimum of 50 gardaí and 10 sergeants at its own expense.

The newspaper also reports that MCD posted an €85,000 cash bond with the council to cover any financial penalties that would result if MCD is found to be in serious breach of the regulations.
