Holidaymakers to escape Spain delays

Air travel - Work stoppage in Majorca
Air travel - Work stoppage in Majorca

The effect on holidaymakers of a work stoppage by airport workers in Spain will not be as great as previously thought.

10% of the ground staff at Majorca airport will stage a two-hour work stoppage from 12.30pm-2.30pm this afternoon.

The effect on incoming and outgoing flights is expected to be minimal.

The dispute centres on a new contract covering wages and working conditions.

It had been thought that half of the flights to and from the islands could have been affected.
