It is understood engineers are completing their examination of the radar equipment.

A small number of arrivals remain delayed, but these are expected to land shortly.

All departing flights are running to schedule.

Ryanair and Aer Lingus passengers were worst hit with delays of more than an hour.

Other airlines were running up to 45 minutes behind schedule.

The radar at the airport went down for 30 minutes late yesterday evening and several flights were delayed as a result.

The Irish Aviation Authority placed restrictions on the numbers of flights departing and landing.

The DAA said there will be a knock-on effect when restrictions are lifted and it will take some time for things to return to normal.

Passengers are being advised to check with their airline for more specific information.
