Limerick dangerous driving trial opens

The trial has opened in Limerick of a 25-year-old man charged with dangerous driving causing the death of a 19-year-old woman.

The trial has opened in Limerick of a 25-year-old man charged with dangerous driving causing the death of a 19-year-old woman in a three-car collision.

Emma Woodland was the back seat passenger in a car which had stopped at traffic lights at the Fairgreen, Limerick on the night of 9 September 2006 when it was struck by another car.

Gerard Cleary of Ballinacurra Gardens, Limerick who was the driver of one of the cars involved in the incident is pleading not guilty to causing the death of Ms Woodland.

The trial is being heard at the circuit court before a jury of six men and six women.
