A man has died in a two-car collision in Co Tipperary.

The crash happened in Moorestown on the N24 between Clonmel and Cahir shortly after 11.30pm last night.

The victim is believed to have been in his early 20s.

Four other people were injured.

Traffic restrictions were lifted this afternoon.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact Cahir Garda Station on 052-45630.

Separately, a man is in a critical condition after a one-vehicle crash in Co Offaly.

The incident on the Ballycumber to Rahan road was discovered at around 4am this morning.

Gardaí are carrying out a full-scale investigation into the collision.

The road will be closed for some time.
