Newry - Drivers facing ongoing traffic disruption
Newry - Drivers facing ongoing traffic disruption

The main Dublin to Belfast road has been re-opened following a crash earlier this morning.

No-one was seriously injured in the two-car collision, which happened on the northbound lane near Loughbrickland in Co Down.

Meanwhile, motorists travelling between Dublin and Belfast on the main A1 road have been warned of ongoing disruption at the Cloghogue roundabout outside Newry while construction of a new road continues.

Rock blasting is taking place every day from Monday to Friday and the road is closed for 20-minute periods between 11am and 2pm.

The area is beside the cross-border railway line and the blasting work has been scheduled at this time in order not to disrupt the train service.
