Gardaí have named the victim of yesterday's crash in Tipperary as James Reddington of Herbert Road, Dublin 4.

The 36-year-old died when his motorcycle was in a collision with a car on the N7, just outside of Roscrea, yesterday afternoon.

He was a serving Detective Member of An Garda Síochána and was stationed at Donnybrook Garda Station.

He was a native of Swinford, Co Mayo.

Earlier, gardaí named the victim of yesterday's Galway crash as Aidan McGee, 41, of Laurence House, Merchants Road, Galway.

That crash happened at Curraghline on the Headford Road, shortly after 3pm.

The victim was riding a motorcycle which collided with a car.
