Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams has said that more than 100 people in west Belfast have given statements to the PSNI about the recent murder of Frank McGreevy.
The former republican prisoner was severely beaten in his home on the Falls Road on 15 March and died three days later in hospital.
Mr Adams said 102 people had made witness statements to the police about the murder in what he said was an unprecedented response.
He said the PSNI had described the community response as far exceeding anything they have encountered before.
Mr Adams was speaking after he meet with members of Mr McGreevy's family this morning.
