The Catholic Archbishop of Dublin, Dr Diarmuid Martin, has said Government plans for a new national children's hospital at the Mater Hospital site in Dublin's north inner city have not even made it to the drawing board stage yet.

Speaking on RTÉ Radio's This Week Programme earlier, Dr Martin, who is chairman of Crumlin hospital, said that particular hospital was being starved of funds and would need guaranteed funding for the next seven years.
