A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an aggravated burglary in which an elderly man was threatened and robbed at knifepoint.
The elderly man was robbed in his home on Mespil Road, Dublin 4, at 5.20pm yesterday.
Gardaí are appealing for the taxi driver who picked up a man in the Leeson Street Bridge/Mespil Road at around 5.30pm and dropped him off at the GPO on O'Connell Street to come forward. (The man may have paid the fare in sterling.)
Gardaí also would like to speak to any person who was in the Mespil Road area between 5pm and 5.30pm and who noticed anything suspicious to contact Pearse Street garda station on 01 666 9000.
