The Health Service Executive has confirmed an outbreak of the Winter Vomiting Bug at the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar.

There are up to 12 suspected cases of the bug in both male and female medical wards.

Anyone with symptoms is advised to speak to their GP and not to present at the hospital.

The HSE is advising the public to curtail visiting and says children should not be brought to the hospital.
