The National Roads Authority has responded to concerns over safety at the Dublin Port Tunnel.
According to a report shown on RTÉ's Prime Time last night, there have been times when the tunnel was left open when it should have been closed for safety reasons.
On RTÉ Radio's Morning Ireland, Hugh Cregan of the National Roads Authority said the NRA would be willing to go before any Dáil committee to underline its commitment to safety.
He said tunnel safety and safety in general are an absolute priority.
