Gardaí in Kells, Co Meath, are investigating an alleged attack on a 13-year-old schoolboy in the town last week.
Gardaí say they are investigating the allegation that a group of students were involved in the incident, which happened when the boy was on his way home from school.
They say no arrests have been made but their inquiries are ongoing.
