Minister for Education Mary Hanafin has said she is supportive of the Approved Behavioural Analysis method of teaching children with autism.

Ms Hanafin said she has already visited one ABA school and she looked forward to visiting more in the future.

She said monies spent fighting cases with parents of autistic children is not money that the Department wants to spend.

She said she is in favour of ABA as one method of teaching children with autism.

She said the needs of different children needed to be approached with a range of teaching methods.
