A father and son remain in a critical condition in hospital in Belfast following a petrol bomb attack at their home in Co Tyrone on Saturday evening.

The device was thrown through a window of their home at Churchill Cottages in the village of Caledon, close to the border with Co Monaghan.

The 39-year-old father and his 19-year-old son were injured when the device exploded and set fire to part of the house.

Ulster Unionist MLA Tom Elliot condemned the attack and said there had been a rise in anti-social behaviour in the village.

He said local people were living in fear.

He said the man and his son had been watching television together when the attack occurred.
