Aircoach - Bus overturns

Coach passengers had a lucky escape this morning when the vehicle they were travelling in overturned in Skeneenarinky on the main Cork to Dublin road.

No other vehicle was involved in the incident, which occurred at around 9.30am this morning.

The coach was an Aircoach travelling between Cork and Dublin airports with six passengers at the time of the crash.

One passenger sustained a broken leg.

The road has reopened but is expected to close again later in order for the coach to be removed from the side of the road.

Elsewhere, a truck has overturned in Dublin on the M50 southbound just past the M1.

The right lane is blocked but traffic can pass by in the hard shoulder. Motorists are being advised to expect delays.

28-year-old Marian Ionescu of Parnell Street in Dublin died in a car crash in Gorteen in Castledermot.
