The families of five young people killed in a two-car crash at Quigleys Point in Donegal in October 2005 have called on the Director of Public Prosecutions to decide whether there will be any legal proceedings arising from it.
Rochelle Peoples, Gavin Duffy, Charlene O'Connor, Darren Quinn and David Steele, allin their early 20s, were killed on 8 October. 2005.
Today their families came together at a media conference in Buncrana to highlight their concern at what they say is the delay by the DPP in making a decision on whether there will be any proceedings as a result of the garda investigation into the crash.
They say 27 months have gone by since their children's young lives were cruelly wiped out and yet when they ask what is happening they are put off time and time again.
It is understood that it is over a year since the garda file on the case was sent to the DPP.
No inquest into the deaths has yet been held and the families say they want to know what happened to their children.
They say they need a decision from the DPP to help them bring some sense of closure to this terrible chapter in their lives.
