Another Citroen car dealer has been brought before the courts on charges of price fixing.

Jack Doran from Minnistown Road in Bettystown, Co Meath, and his company Jack Doran Motors appeared before Drogheda District Court earlier today.

It is alleged that between June 1999 and May 2002 the company entered into and implemented an agreement which was aimed at the prevention, restricting and the distortion of competition by fixing the selling price of Citroen cars.

Mr Doran's company is the third Citroen dealer to be brought before the courts as a result of an investigation by the Competition Authority into allegations of price fixing.

The case against Mr Doran and his company has been adjourned to 4 March next to allow for the preparation of a Book of Evidence.
