Gardaí say the right hand northbound lane of the M1 is still quite slippery between Tallanstown and Dundalk.
They are appealing to motorists across the country to drive slowly and stay a safe distance from the vehicle in front.
Meanwhile in Urlingford, the Islands Road remains closed following a partial bridge collapse on Thursday, and care is still advised in Clonmel as a result of flooding there earlier in the week.
