Gardaí in Limerick are investigating a shooting incident in the city in which a man was shot in the neck and leg.
The shooting happened in Limerick’s Parnell Street area, close the to railway station.
Gardaí believe a man in his 20s was targeted by a balaclava-wearing gunman, who made a getaway in a car driven by another man.
The injured victim managed to get to nearby William Street; from there he was taken by ambulance to St. Johns Hospital. His condition is described as critical.
Gardaí say extra patrols are on duty following the incident.
