Pedestrian dies in Meath crash

A 60-year-old man has been killed in a road accident in Navan, Co Meath.

He was struck by a car and a bus while crossing the road in Garlow cross at around 5.15pm.

The man's body has been taken to Navan General Hospital.

The N3 remains closed and diversions are in place.

Elsewhere, another pedestrian was killed in an accident in Murroe, Co Limerick.

The man, said to be in his 30s, was hit by a van.

Meanwhile, two people died in separate road accidents in Co Louth last night and this morning.

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which happened at 7.50am at Whiterath, Drumiskin, Co Louth.

A 29-year-old man was fatally injured when the van he was driving crashed.

He was pronounced dead at Louth County Hospital. He was alone in the van at the time of the crash and there was no other vehicle involved.
