The Equality Authority has said that gender discrimination is still an issue in the Irish workplace.

The 30th anniversary of the introduction of legislation in the area will be marked at a conference in Dublin today.

One of the issues to be raised is the small percentage of women in top management positions and in the Dáil.

Chief Executive of the Equality Authority, Niall Crowley, says gender is involved in nearly one in five of the complaints it deals with.
