Two men in their 20s have been charged in connection with a shooting incident in Cork over the weekend.
A family escaped uninjured after a number of shots were fired at a house at Kilmore Rd, Knocknaheeny.
David O'Driscoll from Cushing Place, Farranree and Wayne McCarthy from Kilnap Green, Farranree were both charged with a firearm offence.
Both Mr O'Driscoll and Mr McCarthy have been charged with having control of a shotgun on 16 December in circumstances that would give rise to reasonable inference that they did not have it for lawful purpose.
Both were brought before a special sitting of Cork District Court tonight where gardaí objected to bail.
The solicitor for both men, Joe Cuddigan, said that his clients were both seeking bail but he was reserving his cross-examination of gardaí and his application for bail until tomorrow.
He consented to an overnight remand and Judge Uinsinn Mac Gruairc remanded both in custody and deferred his decision on bail until tomorrow.
