A 21-year-old man is being treated in hospital following an assault in Cork city.
The incidcent occurred on waste ground near Ashbrook Heights in the early hours of this morning.
The man's injuries are described as not life threatening.
Gardaí say no weapon was recovered at the scene and its unclear what caused his injuries.
No arrests have been made.
