Iarnród Éireann has confirmed that a power failure on the line caused a delay for the Sligo train service near Enfield in Co Meath yesterday evening.
The train was delayed at Enfield for over an hour.
Earlier this month, Irish Rail apologised to passengers whose train journey from Sligo to Dublin took more than seven hours because of engine failure.
