Three men have appeared at a sitting of Dublin District Court charged in relation to the seizure of 3.5kg of cocaine yesterday.
23-year-old Stanley Kamara with an address on Manor Street, Dublin 7, 19-year-old Mindaugas Sabaliauskas of no fixed abode and 22-year-old John Foday with an address in The Rise, Nobber, Co Meath were all charged under sections 3 and 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Sergeant John McGing of Terenure Garda Station gave evidence in relation to charging the three men yesterday after cocaine with a street value of a €250,000 was seized on Thursday.
He objected to bail applications made on behalf of two of the men due to the seriousness of the charges.
All three have been remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court next Wednesday.
The drugs, with an estimated value of €250,000, were seized as part of a joint operation between Customs Officers and the Gardaí.
It is believed authorities had been monitoring and investigating the activities of the gang, which has been smuggling cocaine through the postal service.
The drugs were sent as cargo from Peru to Dublin airport.
