Funeral of beating victim takes place

Several hundred people have attended the funeral of 21-year-old Paul Quinn in south Armagh.

Mr Quinn died after he was beaten to death by a gang of men near Castleblayney in Co Monaghan last Saturday.

His funeral was held earlier this morning at St Patrick's Church in Cullyhanna.

In his homily, the Parish Priest Fr Kevin Cullen, said the murder of Paul Quinn was a barbaric crime and deeply sinful.

Fr Cullen said the murdered man's family had appealed for no revenge or retaliation in the wake of the killing and he said he echoed those sentiments.
