A man has been charged with the murder of 20-year-old Joanne Mangan in Co Tipperary.
Kevin Prendergast, 30, with an address in Knockeen, Grange in Clonmel, was charged at Cashel District Court this morning.
The father of two is also charged with assault causing serious harm to Joanne's brother Eddie.
Mr Prendergast made no reply when he was charged and was remanded in custody to appear at Clonmel District Court on 23 October.
Joanne Mangan died after being stabbed at an isolated house in Ballynamuddagh near Grange, around 10km from Clonmel yesterday.
Her 23-year-old brother, Eddie Mangan, who was also attacked at the house, remains in a critical condition at Cork University Hospital.
A knife has been recovered by investigators involved in the case.
The results of a post mortem examination on the body of Ms Mangan are expected later today.
