Organisers of the climate change protest camp near Heathrow Airport say police claims that they have been infiltrated by troublemakers are ludicrous and part of a smear campaign.
This afternoon London's Metropolitan Police said they fear that a significant criminal element has joined hundreds of law-abiding protesters at the camp.
Senior Scotland Yard officers claim that known anarchists, looking for a confrontation with the police, have joined the environmental activists.
Earlier today ten people were arrested after climate change protestors staged simultaneous demonstrations at two small private British airports.
A group blocked off Biggin Hill airport in Kent by chaining themselves to the main entrance.

Around 20 protestors also blockaded a gate at Farnborough airport in Hampshire.
A spokesperson for the activists said the protest was aimed at what they called the super-rich.
It is believed the demonstrations were linked to the larger protest camp at Heathrow Airport.
A total of 21 people have now been arrested since the camp was set up at the weekend.
One private jet charter company has claimed that the current protests in Britain are persuading more business and first class travellers to use private planes.
Twinjet says there has been a 15% increase in first-time private jet bookings this week.
The firm's managing director, John Keeble, said fear of disruption at Heathrow has led to some mainstream travellers turning to private services.
