Lap-dancing club - Ruhama appeals to corporate sector

A group that works with women involved in prostitution has called on the corporate sector in Ireland not to financially support lap-dancing clubs.

Ruhama today launched details of a charter, which was sent to several hundred companies in Ireland last June, requesting them not to support lap-dancing clubs with corporate funds.

Ruhama believes there is a link between such clubs and the global sex industry.

The agency says it has become aware that certain clubs are targeting companies for corporate support.

Ruhama said that, so far, more than 50 companies had expressed support for its charter.
