Almost half of the population believes that homeless people choose to live that way, according to a new study released today.

The survey by the Sophia Housing Organisation also found that the same number believes that homeless people could return to their homes if they really wanted to.

It also showed that 80% of people think that drug addicts, ex-prisoners and prostitutes do not deserve support in finding a home.
