Campaigner ends palace protest

watch

A Fathers 4 Justice campaigner, dressed as Batman, who earlier breached security at Buckingham Palace, has ended his protest.

Jason Hatch stood on a ledge near a balcony at the front of the palace for over five hours.

The group, which supports fathers' rights, said the protester managed to reach the royal residence and climb a wall at around 3pm this afternoon despite the presence of armed guards.

He then unfurled a large banner and stood and waved to the crowd that gathered.

The group has also targeted some of Britain's most well-known landmarks. The London Eye was brought to a standstill on Saturday after it was scaled by another member of the group dressed as Spider-Man.
