It has been confirmed that 167 jobs are to go at a printing company in north Co Dublin.
Modus Media is to close its plant in Clonshaugh. A spokesman for the company said the plant, which manufactures manuals for the computer industry, is no longer sustainable.
Modus Media is part of Modus Media International who says the closure is due to the downturn in the print market particularly in the technical sector.
They also blamed the increase in the use of CD Roms over print manuals.
A spokesman for SIPTU said it was notified this afternoon that management met with all staff and announced that the plant was closing down.
SIPTU is seeking an immediate meeting of the group of unions at the company.
Modus Media also has facilities in Limerick and Kildare employing 450 workers. These jobs will not be affected by this afternoon's announcement.
