Lady Valerie Goulding has died at the age of 85.
Lady Goulding co-founded the Central Remedial Clinic in 1951 and was chairperson and Managing Director of the centre until 1984.
The clinic was set up to help children stricken by the polio epidemic. Today it provides services to almost 3,500 children and 500 adults with disabilities throughout Ireland.
Lady Goulding was also nominated to the Seanad in 1977.
She is survived by her three sons.
