Need more protein in your diet? Indy Power's protein balls do just that in a very tasty way.

Ingredients

Need more protein in your diet? Indy Power's protein balls do just that in a very tasty way.

  • 1 Cup of Hazelnuts (150g)
  • 1 Cup of Dates (150g)
  • 1 Scoop of Vanilla Protein (I use Sunwarrior Warrior Blend)
  • 1 Tablespoon of Cacao Powder

Method

Indy says: "Sometimes it's hard to get enough protein in to your diet and these are such a delicious way to sneak some more in. They’re incredible if you're in the mood for something a little more indulgent, a little more of a treat! They only take a few minutes to make and are full of protein and magnesium making them the ideal post workout treat."

  1. Pour boiling water over the dates and leave the to soak for about 5 minutes. Dry roast the hazelnuts at 180’C for about 10 minutes.
  2. Then rub them around in a clean kitchen towel to remove any of the loose shells.
  3. Add the hazelnuts to your blender and blitz until you have a coarse, crumbly nut flour. Then add in the protein and cacao powder and blitz to combine.
  4. Drain the dates and add them in, blending on high until you have a sticky paste.
  5. Use your hands to squish and roll the mixture into balls. I like to make mine golf ball size so that you get a few bites.
