Ingredients
Need more protein in your diet? Indy Power's protein balls do just that in a very tasty way.
- 1 Cup of Hazelnuts (150g)
- 1 Cup of Dates (150g)
- 1 Scoop of Vanilla Protein (I use Sunwarrior Warrior Blend)
- 1 Tablespoon of Cacao Powder
Method
Indy says: "Sometimes it's hard to get enough protein in to your diet and these are such a delicious way to sneak some more in. They’re incredible if you're in the mood for something a little more indulgent, a little more of a treat! They only take a few minutes to make and are full of protein and magnesium making them the ideal post workout treat."
- Pour boiling water over the dates and leave the to soak for about 5 minutes. Dry roast the hazelnuts at 180’C for about 10 minutes.
- Then rub them around in a clean kitchen towel to remove any of the loose shells.
- Add the hazelnuts to your blender and blitz until you have a coarse, crumbly nut flour. Then add in the protein and cacao powder and blitz to combine.
- Drain the dates and add them in, blending on high until you have a sticky paste.
- Use your hands to squish and roll the mixture into balls. I like to make mine golf ball size so that you get a few bites.
