Such is the scale of the collapse of the Fianna Fail vote in the 2011 general election that when the count is complete it's conceivable that the party will only have one TD in the Dublin area.
Sean Whelan reports on the collapse of support for Fianna Fáíl and the Green Party in the 2011 general election. Fianna Fáíl looks like losing up to 57 seats.
Minister Batt O'Keefe says "It is like Fianna Fál has been hit by a tsunami." Jerry Beades of the Fianna Fáil National Executive says the result would have been worse if Brian Cowen had remained as leader of the party.
Noel Dempsey, Martin Mansergh and Conor Lenihan all comment on the result for Fianna Fáil. Brian Lenihan will retains his seat but Sean Haughey and Barry Andrews will lose theirs.
Pat Carey says there is no shame in losing but Fianna Fáíl must learn from this result. Eamon Ryan and Ciaran Cuffe of the Green Party talk about what the result means for their party.
