RTÉ Online is launched allowing internet users worldwide to have access to several RTÉ Radio programmes, news, sport and entertainment.
RTÉ announces that it is now available "online on the internet".
Eugene Murray RTÉ Group Head, Programme Services outlines plans to include a live transmission of 'The Late Late Show' over the internet.
The Director General of RTÉ Joe Barry says,
We are very conscious of the treasure trove that we have here in RTÉ. Our libraries are packed with extraordinary material. The additional digital activity will of course be producing CD roms etc.
