The Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) has rejected an Irish Republican Army (IRA) claim about the shooting of a British soldier in Derry. The IRA claimed it wounded the soldier but according to the RUC the soldier was accidentally shot by a member of an army foot patrol.
