Father John Murphy a peaceful priest turned rebel leader

A 'Radharc' documentary looking at the story of 1798 hero Father John Murphy of Boolavogue, County Wexford. His exploits are celebrated in the folk song 'Boolavogue'. The local curate led a people's army against the Crown forces and was executed at Tullow.

Presenter Father Peter Lemass examines the motives and that turned Father Murphy from a peaceful priest, who initially persuaded his parishioners to give up their pikes, into a rebel leader.
