The first edition of 'All the Best' was a standalone programme on 03 January 1984 presented by Pat Butler as Fear an Tí.
Later that year, a series of twelve programmes was broadcast in the summer of 1984 with Breandán Ó Dúill as Presenter/Fear an Tí. 'All the Best' literally featured all the best of traditional Irish music, song and dance. Each episode was a concert filmed at Cultúrlann na hÉireann, the headquarters of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí na hÉireann in Monkstown, County Dublin.
