Clara and Athenry play a hurling game to celebrate the clubs first meeting one hundred years ago.

in 1886, on Easter Monday hurling teams from Clara in County Offaly and Athenry in County Galway met on a playing field in Athlone. This was the first time teams representing different counties and different provinces played each other.

On Easter Monday 100 years later at Páirc Ciaráin in Athlone the clubs played each other again.

Athenry once again emerged victorious winning both the minor and senior games.

The same result as in 1886.
