Mullagh makes Arthur Saunders 100th birthday really special despite the pandemic restrictions.
Athlone native Arthur Saunders is celebrating his 100th birthday in Mullagh, County Cavan, where he lives with his daughter Ann. To mark this landmark birthday, his family and friends organise a surprise socially distanced drive-by party. Dozens of cars pass Arthur Saunders' home to wish the 100-year-old well.

Arthur Saunders is feeling good and looking forward to getting back out on the dance floor once the COVID-19 pandemic ends.
Just waiting to get out of this COVID-19 so I can get up and have a bit of a jump around and pick up someone.
Arthur Saunders spent 60 years of his life working and living in England. Some of his family still live there and could not attend the birthday celebration due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
His granddaughter Julie Brady is in attendance,
It’s nice that everyone else realises what a legend my grandad is.
Also present is great-grandson Jamie Brady, who thinks Arthur is a massive inspiration to people. Neighbour Liz Byrne points out how popular the centenarian is in his adopted area.
Arthur is a gentleman and the whole of Mullagh loves Arthur.
Arthur Saunders reveals his secret to a long and happy life,
Just live your life and don't hate anyone, never hate.
Once the pandemic is over, he is looking forward to having a pint in his local pub.
