Tanker drivers dispute leaves Dublin motorists queuing for hours at garages to fill their cars.

A disagreement between tanker drivers and oil companies has resulted in a petrol shortage in Leinster. The unofficial action by drivers arose from a dispute over the pay and working conditions and has been ongoing for the last two weeks.

The strike means that filling stations are either operating on a reduced capacity or have had to close for business temporarily.

In Dundrum motorists queued for up to four hours. Tempers flared occasionally, with allegations of queue-jumping. One man waiting in line for a south Dublin petrol station is not happy with the situation, but is resigned.

There's nothing you can do.
